These days, the topic of renewable energy and the need to use it is pervasive.

Using clean energy instead of fossil fuel energy, which increases greenhouse gases, global warming and air pollution, and thus has a direct impact on the health of the community.

Through this Project-based-Learning activity, we will understand that how using clean energy can redeuce poverty,increase health of the society and reduce pollution on the air to have a perfect climate.

For this activity we work on Un Sustainable Development Goals 7.Affordable And Clean Energy,3.Good health And wellbeing,1.No poverty,13.Climate Action.

Here is list of Learning objectives

  • Define of Renewable Energy.
  • Understanding the effects of clean energy on improving health and well-being, improving climate, reducing costs and reducing world poverty.
  • Learn how to use of clean energy.
  • learn about solar,wind and water energy.
  • Be able to brain storm.
  • Be able to work as a teamate
  • Be able to manage time

Materials and Digital resources (required to conduct the activities)

1.Research (Computers with internet)

2.Brainstorming tools (Mind mapping software, Mobile apps)

3.Materials and digital resources (solar, wind, water energy kit)

Expected products (deliverables at the end of the activity)Create a physical prototype of a product that can save energy from wind, water, sun light in a battery and use it.

  • Student will understand that with Using this type of energy instead of oil, gas, electricity, the world have better climate ,no poverty and good health and poverty .

GIM Module 1: FAMILIARIZE

1.Individually,Familiarize with The UN Sustainable Development

Goals and choose one or some of them

  • read the articles and resources that are related to the choosen topics.
  • watch the video that are related to the clean energy and its effects on the climate

and poverty and good health.

2.In a group,Identify the destructive effects of not paying attention to clean energy

3. Define a User Need Statement

  • Students need to find a way to create a product that work with clean energy and reduce using of fuel energy and achieving clean air and health, well-being and reducing costs and thus prosperity and reducing poverty.

4.Benchmarking

  • In a group/Research and see what products are currently available to use clean energy, and in the next step, see what you can do to increase the efficiency of these products.

5.Sketch idea and user journey map

  • Individually/sketch your product ideas and with words and arrows show the different parts of the products (2d design ) and then create a description and say how your product works (journey map).

6.Individually/Design a 3d digital model

  • create a 3d model of your product with computer-aided design (CAD) design soft ware

7.Individual/Design a 3d cardboard model

  • create your 3d card board model with any things that is useable/

based on your 3d digital model

GIM Module 3: EXHIBIT

8.present your product in a simple poster

  • The group present the product in a poster.
  • you can use infografic format to show the problems and solutions in a simple way.
  • presentation slides using (canva,powerpoint….)
  • information such as:
  1. problems description
  2. product description
  3. Target user
  4. solutions
  5. Benefits

9.Get feedback

  • present your poster to external audience and ask them to give you feedback on the following:

what do you like about this project and what do you think ,can be better.

EVALUATION

  • Student must submit their entire document from the first step (Brain storming)To the last step.
  • Use of external audience feedback on your project to become better.
  • Their project will be evaluated by below rubric.

.It could be a good check list for them to check if they are doing on the right way.
